I felt that the AIM-High program was a great way for my daughter to gain exposure to different aspects of medicine. I looked forward to the nightly email updates and pictures. I was extremely impressed with all the hands-on activities my daughter was able to experience. My daughter loved the program.

AIM-High is the best way to have a great summer while getting an inside look into the medical field. Everything was planned out thoroughly, and every day you learned a new thing. The best thing is that not only did I have fun, make friends, and learn new things, but I also got CPR certified.

In the AIM-High program I formed friendships with other students interested in medicine, had daily exposure to different medical disciplines, and was mentored by medical students. Wow! At the end of the day, this program will help you decide if you truly want a career in medicine. Better to know sooner than later. I loved this program!

Hotel Discounts

For parents and families who need hotel rooms, you are welcome to use the NSU hotel discount rates as part of the AIM-High program. Please refer to the NSU Travel Website for reservations.

Prescription Medication

Students taking prescription medication must bring their medication in the original prescription container. Medication will be collected upon arrival and disseminated as prescribed.

Day Camp Attire

All AIM High day camp students must adhere to the clothing policies set by the College of Osteopathic Medicine. As many morning and afternoon activities take place in the medical school facilities, please wear appropriate business attire such as pants, capris, collar shirts, polo shirts, dressy t-shirts, skirts, casual dresses, and closed toe shoes. (No jeans or graphic t-shirts should be worn).

It is a requirement that students wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals) for labs and safety. While the dress is business casual, wear comfortable shoes since you’ll be walking daily around campus.

Staying Hydrated

It’s hot and humid in South Florida and therefore we enforce a strict policy of drinking water and staying hydrated.

Students are provided drawstring backpacks and water bottles. All campers are required to fill up their water bottles every morning before leaving the dining hall or carry bottled water with them. Use the backpack to carry folders with the schedule and evaluations.

Other Items Students May Bring

  • Umbrella or poncho in case of inclement weather.
  • Sweater or sweatshirt (for the air-conditioned classrooms that may get a little chilly).
  • Spending money is not necessary for the camp since all meals are covered. However, if you would like to bring money to buy additional snacks or drinks, you are welcome to.

Valuable Items

NSU is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items. Please do not send valuable items that might be damaged or lost if brought to AIM-High camp. This may include expensive clothing or anything that you would be upset if it became scratched, stained, battered, broken, lost, or unrecognizable.
